Andrew Thornton is a software consultant in the statistics unit. Prior to joining UNDP in May 2008, he worked in the financial sector where he developed risk management and real-time electronic trading systems. He recently completed a master of arts in International Affairs at The New School, New York City, where he concentrated on governance and human rights issues. His master’s thesis investigated how appropriate microcredit is for the poorest of the poor. Andrew also has a master’s degree in Software Engineering from Manchester University Institute of Science and Technology, England.
