Marisol Sanjines oversees public outreach and advocacy. Before joining this office, she was communications advisor to UNDP/BDP/Poverty Group and the Millennium Development Goals campaign, where she was responsible for campaigning in the Arab region and western Africa for MDG National Reports. She has served as the national information officer of the UN Information Centre in Bolivia as well as communications trainer to four peacekeeping operations exercises in Latin America. Prior to the UN, she worked as communications director for the Bolivian Ministry of Health and the Municipality of La Paz. She also has managed several political campaigns.
A Bolivian national, she earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism from Catholic University in Bolivia and in political science from Trinity University in Texas. Her master’s degree in public management and policy is from the Harvard Institute for International Development.
